SALT LAKE CITY — An American Airlines flight flying from Charlotte, North Carolina, to San Francisco made an unexpected pit stop, er potty stop, on Thursday evening, a flight spokesperson confirmed.
Thanks to toilet problems, the plane had to make an emergency landing in Salt Lake City around 5:24 p.m.
Ground crews flushed away the problems, or serviced the plane, and after about an hour, the plane was back in the air and on its way to California, according to Flight Aware.
Our @AmericanAir flight just had an emergency landing in Salt Lake because all the toilets are clogged. How’s your day going? #fecalflight#holditpic.twitter.com/ICh3TdnwtH

Traveling can already be hard enough, but add in toilet issues and it can become downright crappy.
This seems like a pretty stinky situation for passengers — after all, you can’t exactly roll down a window on an airplane.
