GRAND COUNTY — Deputies seized 23 pounds of methamphetamine Sunday during a traffic stop, according to a news release on Wednesday.
Shortly after 1 p.m., a Grand County deputy stopped on I-70, about 11 miles east of Crescent Juntion. Officials didn’t say why the car was initially pulled over.
Thanks to recent specialized drug training, the deputy was able to detect drugs in the vehicle and after a search, found the meth, officials said.
The driver was the car’s only occupant and was arrested on investigation of methamphetamine possession with the intent to distribute, officials said in the release.
Further information, including the name of the driver, was not immediately released.
