IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A southern Idaho woman who prosecutors say helped her boyfriend in a series of armed robberies has been sentenced to up to 14 years in prison.
The Post Register reports Denise Williams, a 26-year-old woman from Blackfoot, was sentenced last week for robbery and burglary. District Judge Joel Tingey said she will be eligible for parole after serving at least five years.
Prosecutors said Williams and Juan Santos-Quintero robbed two high school students outside a fast food restaurant and another man outside a church last September. In both cases the victims were threatened with guns.
Santos-Quintero was also sentenced last week in a separate case. He was ordered to serve at least 27 years and up to life in prison after being found guilty of shooting a Bingham County Sheriff's Office deputy in a standoff after the robberies. The deputy survived the shooting.
