While he has not been known for his skills as an orator, I think John McCain delivered a powerful speech last night. I feel he spoke from his heart. He is aware of what the Party wants, but he knows what the Country NEEDS. He has made friends and enemies and both sides of the aisle by showing his willingness to take on issues for the good of the nation.

Both McCain and his running-mate, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin have a history of fighting the establishment on both sides of the aisle. Yes, he has been in Washington a long time, yet has NEVER sponsored a “pork belly” bill or approved of earmark spending. He believes in fiscal responsibility. A few thoughts that touched me: His biography shows that he and his family have an exemplary record of service to their country. He stated that his time in the service and the 5+ years of being a POW had changed him. He hates war, but refuses to accept defeat in the necessary struggles that arise in history. He is a profile in courage, a model of service, an example of faith, with a pattern of experience that is unmatched in this current race. Regardless of your party affiliation, you cannot deny these FACTS. At first, I was not happy about him. I was so “pro-Romney” that I never saw anyone else as a viable candidate. However, I now join with all of the previous contenders and associates: Romney, Giuliani, Huckabee, Pawlenty, and now Palin, as well as, from what I can see, most of the rest of the Republican Party, in fully supporting John McCain as the next President of the United States.
