This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

In celebration of the Greek Festival this week, I am highlighting Greek-owned businesses. Today, I will tell you about Kosta Luras and The Other Place Restaurant.

Kosta first came to the United States in 1977 to visit his uncle. However, he enjoyed himself so much that in 1979 he immigrated to Utah. While learning the language, he worked in several different restaurants cooking, washing dishes and getting ideas for his own business venture. It wasn't until 1986 that he saw his dream come to pass with the opening of The Other Place Restaurant.

The Other Place Restaurant serves a mixture of Greek and American cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some of its specialties include the mezedakia, a variety of feta cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives and the patron's choice of chicken, pork, lamb or smelts, and dolmathes, stuffed grape leaves. Diners enjoy the selection of homemade soups that changes every day as well as daily specials which offer both a Greek and American menu item. In the summertime, Greek salads are popular.

If you're looking for a new destination for Saturday morning breakfast, The Other Place Restaurant will present just what you're hoping to find. Not only does it have traditional American breakfast items like pancakes, but it is best known for omelets and the marinated pork and eggs.

Interacting with his customers, especially the regulars, is one of Kosta's favorite aspects of running his restaurant. He makes it a point to frequently change the menu to offer new foods and to keep up with changes in consumer eating habits.

Kosta says The Other Place Restaurant is distinguished by its clean appearance, friendly staff and the excellent quality of cuisine it offers. He believes customers should never leave hungry so he tries to offer the right quality and quantity to satisfy even the hungriest diner.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
