SALT LAKE CITY — The following is an up-to-the-minute look at the three state primaries and caucuses voting on Tuesday for the 2016 presidential race.
Democratic candidates are vying for 149 total delegates in three states — Arizona, Idaho and Utah. Each state awards delegates on a proportional basis. Republican candidates are vying for 107 total delegates in two states — Arizona and Utah — and American Samoa. Arizona awards delegates on a winner-take-all basis, with Utah awarding delegates on a proportional basis unless a candidate gets 50 percent of the vote and then it shifts to a winner-take-all basis.
Arizona will take part in a state primary while Idaho and Utah will hold caucuses. Each state will end their polling or caucuses at a different time throughout the night, with the earliest results coming in around 6 p.m. MST. Check back throughout the night to see updated results.
