LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Three people have pleaded guilty to stealing more than 400 cans of baby formula from stores in Utah and Idaho.
The Herald Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1RYeRYD ) that the two women and one man will be deported to Romania. An immigration hold was placed on the group after they pleaded guilty to felony theft charges Monday.
Police arrested 49-year-old Selford Velcu, 47-year-old Iolanda Velcu and 22-year-old Elisabeta Zatreanu on Dec. 28 for stealing the formula from stores in Logan and stores between Rexburg, Idaho, and Heber City.
Logan Police Lt. Rod Peterson says police found 466 cans of formula, a value of $8,430.
Police say the formula will remain in a secure location until the sentencing.
