SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A 15-year-old boy is facing a murder charge in connection with a shooting death following a fight that started on a bus.
The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/1K1XXmp) that the teenager made a first appearance in juvenile court Friday.
Police say he got into an argument on a Utah Transit Authority bus with 22-year-old Marco Cardenas on June 10.
Prosecutors say that Cardenas punched the teen and the teenager pulled out a gun after they got off the bus in West Valley City. Charging documents allege he shot at the older man in the chest, then ran away and hid in a window well. He was found by a police dog and arrested.
The Associated Press does not typically name juveniles accused of crimes. It was not immediately clear Friday if he had an attorney.
