NEW YORK (AP) — Fear that Greece could default on its debt and abandon the euro is continuing to rattle global financial markets. On Friday, the Dow closed down 279 to 17,826, a drop of 1.5 percent. The S&P 500 lost nearly 24 points, or 1.1 percent, to 2,081. And the Nasdaq fell 76 points, or 1.5 percent, to 4,931.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Spain's economy minister is criticizing Greece's left-wing government for what he says is a "not very coherent" approach to negotiations over its finances and economy. Speaking on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank meetings in Washington, he said "time is running out" and he hopes progress can be made before a European finance ministers meeting May 11.

NEW YORK (AP) — Benchmark U.S. crude fell 97 cents on Friday to close at $55.74 a barrel in New York. But it finished up 8 percent for the week. Brent crude, the benchmark for international oil, fell 53 cents to close at $63.45 a barrel in London.

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — A Florida senator is pressing federal officials to disclose technical data and other information about a decade-old oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico that has been shrouded in secrecy. Democrat Bill Nelson says it's "unacceptable" that oil is still leaking from the site off Louisiana where an oil platform toppled during Hurricane Ivan in 2004.

UNDATED (AP) — BMW is recalling nearly 92,000 Mini Coopers to fix a defect that may prevent the air bag on the front passenger side of the cars from deploying in a crash. The problem affects the 2005 to 2008 models of the Mini Cooper and Cooper S. BMW says the air bag may not work properly because of a flam that might prevent the vehicles' mat detection system from sensing a passenger sitting in the front seat.
