I suppose we all knew it was coming, but it's still a shock to the system to see. Andrew Adams has been reporting this morning on a Murray gas station that's now selling gas for $4.00 a gallon. It's just one of the growing number of areas around Utah and the country where gas prices have risen above a level that many people never thought they'd see.

**Relief may be on the way**
AAA's daily Fuel Gauge report puts the nationwide average price of regular at $3.96 cents a gallon this morning.

That's a penny more than a day ago. The average for premium is also up a penny, to a whopping $4.36 a gallon. The continued runup comes even as the price of crude oil continues a decline that began with a $4.41-a-barrel retreat yesterday. Analysts say a stronger dollar and falling demand outweighed an unexpected drop in U.S. stocks of crude. An investigation into possible price manipulation of U.S. oil markets may also have contributed to oil's declines.
