AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — Jordan Spieth (speeth) is this year's Masters winner. He romped to his first major championship with a record-tying performance today at Augusta, shooting an 18-under 270 to become the first wire-to-wire winner of the green jacket since 1976. No one got closer than three shots of the lead all day. Spieth shot a 2-under 70 to hold off Justin Rose and Phil Mickelson.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Newly announced presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will head to Iowa this week. Clinton will tour a community college in Monticello on Tuesday and visit a produce distribution company in Norwalk on Wednesday. Her team says she wants to avoid big campaign events and instead focus on more personal interaction with voters in early voting states like Iowa.

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — The Rev. Al Sharpton is thanking the mayor and police chief in North Charleston, South Carolina, for their response to the fatal shooting of a black man by a white police officer after a traffic stop on April 4. The officer was fired and is charged with murder. Sharpton appeared today at a local Baptist Church. The mayor and police chief were also there.

NEW YORK (AP) — Attorneys for Saudi Arabia say a federal judge should reject claims by families of 9/11victims that new evidence shows agents of the kingdom "directly and knowingly" helped the hijackers. The lawyers say there's no such evidence. They also urged the judge to disregard claims by Zacharias Moussaoui, who says Saudi Arabia didn't cut ties with al-Qaida in 1994.

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A star college athlete and a classmate are suspended from Alabama's Troy University after authorities discovered a cellphone video that allegedly shows them sexually assaulting a woman at a Florida beach while a large crowd of spring-break revelers watches. The two men have been charged with sexual battery. More arrests are expected.
