BOSTON (AP) — A defense attorney has used a closing argument to portray Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (joh-HAHR' tsahr-NEYE'-ehv) as a "kid" and "teenager" under the influence of an older brother with bad intentions. But federal prosecutors countered that Tsarnaev had an active role in the deadly attack. The jury is expected to begin deliberations in the morning.

NEW YORK (AP) — A revised indictment unsealed in New York has charged a fourth man in a terrorism case, accusing him of attempting to raise funds to help U.S. residents go overseas to join the Islamic State group. Dilkhayot Kasimov faces charges of conspiracy and attempting to provide material support to a terrorist organization. Three other people were previously charged in federal court in Brooklyn.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A protest group says it has asked the United Nations to conduct an independent investigation of the fatal police shooting of an unarmed, biracial man by a white Madison, Wisconsin, police officer. The Wisconsin Department of Justice has wrapped up its investigation of the shooting but hasn't released its findings.

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — Maryland authorities say seven children -- ages 6 to 16 -- have been found dead in a home with an adult. But police in Princess Anne haven't released many details other than to say that no foul play is suspected. Princess Anne is a community on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — U.S. safety officials are recommending that tank cars carrying oil or ethanol by rail urgently need to be retrofitted or replaced to make them more fire-resistant. One alternative suggested by the National Transportation Safety Board calls for flammable liquids cars to be equipped with ceramic "thermal blankets" to shield tanks from intense heat. There has been a recent spate of fiery crashes.
