LONDON, Jul 4, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Australian singer Kylie Minogue says she is recovered from breast cancer and planning a world tour and recording a new album.
The former "Neighbors" star was interviewed on Sky TV for a July 16 broadcast of her video diary that chronicles her year-long cancer treatment. Minogue underwent a partial mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the London Telegraph reported.
"The moment my doctor told me, I went silent," Minogue said of her reaction to the diagnosis in May 2005. "My mum and dad were with me. Then we all fell to pieces."
Minogue said she wanted to complete her world tour, but her parents convinced her to start treatment immediately.
Her doctors have said she is completely recovered.
"I feel like I've got a second chance at life," said Minogue who made an appearance at Elton John's White Tie and Tiara ball last week, Sky News reported.
The Telegraph said Minogue is rescheduling the tour that was curtailed last May and working on a new album to be recorded in Paris.
