OGDEN, Utah (AP) — An Ogden jury has sentenced a man to death for the second time in a 1985 murder case, making him the ninth person on the state's death row. Under a law passed last week, Douglas Lovell could be executed by firing squad if authorities can't get lethal injection drugs 30 days before an execution date.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Gov. Gary Herbert has vetoed a controversial bill to name a section of Utah's Veterans' Memorial Highway after late state House Speaker Rebecca Lockhart. Herbert's office said he vetoed the measure at the request of Lockhart's family.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A federal judge is refusing to drop criminal charges against four men accused of riding ATVs through a closed southern Utah canyon to protest what they call federal government overreach. Attorneys for the men argued that the government didn't follow proper steps to close the trail. A trial date is set for April 28.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Rudy Gobert scored a career-high 20 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and had two blocks as the Utah Jazz cruised past the Denver Nuggets 98-84 last night. Gobert was coming off his 22nd double-double of the season Monday. Derrick Favors scored 19, had seven rebounds and three blocks as the Jazz frontcourt dominated.
