SALT LAKE CITY — The Ute gymnastics team dominated Arizona State (197.825-194.100) in a meet that "couldn't have been scripted any better," according to Greg Marsden, co-head coach.
The Red Rocks remain undefeated (7-0, 3-0 Pac-12) while the Sun Devils fall to 1-7, 0-3 Pac-12.
The night started with Tory Wilson and Georgia Dabritz scoring back-to-back 10.0s on the vault.
"It was unexpected. I've been a little out of my groove this season," said Wilson of her second career 10.0 for the event. "My theme for the night was 'Be average,' so it worked out."
The crowd of 14,400 gave Wilson a well-deserved standing ovation. The Huntsman Center went into complete chaos as soon as Dabritz followed Wilson with her own perfect score — her first on vault and fifth overall. The Utes almost pulled off a trifecta with Kailah Delaney's 9.925 performance.
The last time the Red Rocks earned two consecutive 10.0s was on the floor in 1993 with Kristen Kenoyer and Aimee Trepanier. The alumni were in attendance, along with nearly 70 other former Utah gymnasts, as the program celebrated 40 years.
"I really didn't get a chance to see them (alumni) until they came on the floor on that last event," Marsden said. "That was really emotional."

The meet wasn't emotional for Marsden alone. Laura Tebo, Dabritz's club coach since she was 2 years old, passed away earlier this week. The Red Rocks wore orange ribbons in their hair in honor of her favorite color and dedicated their performances at the meet to Tebo.
Dabritz (39.675) won the all-around for Utah, followed by fellow co-captains Wilson (39.550) and Corrie Lothrop (39.450). Dabritz also won bars and floor, scoring 9.95 for both events.
Baely Rowe claimed a victory on beam with a 9.90. Her performance resembled the season's first meet at BYU where she also scored a season-best, 9.90.
"I was really comfortable and confident up there," said Rowe.
"Baely's a beamer," Marsden said. "She's improved and has a little more difficulty this year. She's doing a great job up there."
Tiffani Lewis scored a 9.875 — along with Rowe, Kassandra Lopez and Lothrop — to start the Utes on bars. But Dabritz (9.95) and Wilson (9.90) led the Utes to another event victory.
Utah finished the night on floor with three consecutive 9.90s – Kari Lee (9.90), Lothrop (9.925) and Dabritz (9.95). Lothrop paid tribute to alumni Trepanier at the end of her routine with the controversial pose from a 1993 billboard advertisement.
"I thought it would be pretty cool to bring it back," Lothrop said as she admitted doing the pose was her idea. "I've waited all season to do it."
Utah's next meet is Feb. 14 in Seattle against Washington. Pac-12 Networks will broadcast the meet at 5 p.m. MST.
