RICHFIELD, Utah (AP) — A Richfield man has been arrested in the death of his 46-year-old wife.
Edward Callison was booked Thursday into the Sevier County Jail after the discovery of his wife's dismembered remains near a campground in the county.
Melanie Callison was reported missing by a family member on Sept. 25, two weeks after she was last seen in Richfield by her doctor.
Investigators say the 59-year-old Edward Callison had told his wife's family that she went to California but made several inconsistent statements to both her family and police.
Sheriff Nathan Curtis says detectives think she was killed during a camping trip but are still unsure about a motive.
Callison was arrested on suspicion of aggravated murder and desecration of a body.
