RENO, Nev. (AP) — Police have identified a Reno taxi driver who was shot dead last weekend. Authorities say 55-year-old Sami Amin was found on the ground near his Whittlesea Checker cab late Sunday night. Secret Witness is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of a suspect or suspects in the man's death.

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A Las Vegas man has been sentenced to eight to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to felony DUI and leaving the scene of a crash that killed a road construction worker. The Review-Journal reports that a son recalled of Robert Lee Lujan, the man who was killed, as the patriarch of his family. District Judge Jennifer Togliatti told Rafael Mendez-Soto he'll have a chance after prison to make others aware of how driving drunk can ruin lives.

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A 29-year-old Las Vegas man has been sentenced to death for killing two men after an apparent drug deal and robbery five years ago. A jury decided yesterday that Ralph "Macky" Jeremias should get the death penalty after he was convicted of first-degree murder, robbery and burglary. Paul Stephens and Brian Hudson were found dead in June 2009 inside their apartment on Decatur Boulevard near Flamingo Road.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A Reno woman says her husband suffered a mental breakdown before he killed their two young sons and turned a gun on himself at their home in northwest Reno. Police say detectives were continuing to investigate the case as a homicide and would have no further comment.
