SALT LAKE CITY — Senior point guard Delon Wright has been named to the 2015 Bob Cousy Collegiate Point Guard of the Year award watch list, which was released Tuesday.

Wright is among 35 players named to the watch list. Last season Wright averaged 15.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.5 steals per game.

After deciding to play one more season at Utah, Wright has garnered national attention and is projected to be a first round draft pick in the 2015 NBA draft. On Monday, Wright was named the 20th best player in the country, according to ESPN.com.

Other Pac-12 players named to the watch list include Stanford's Chasson Randle and Arizona's T.J. McConnell.

"The Cousy Award has become one of the top awards in college basketball," said Ken Kaufman, Chair of the Bob Cousy Award and former president of the National Association of Basketball Coaches in a statement. "We look forward to another season of watching the best point guards in college basketball compete for this elite award."

The Cousy watch list will be narrowed down to 20 players in February, with a final list of the top five players named in early March.

The award is given by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and is given to the top point guard in men\'s college basketball.
