SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Democrat Doug Owens used his first joint appearance with Republican Mia Love to portray her positions as extreme. The congressional candidates appeared together this afternoon at the annual conference of the Utah Taxpayers Association. Love pointed to her time as mayor of Saratoga Springs and decried federal overreach and the policies of President Barack Obama's administration.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Gay and lesbian couples who married in Utah while it was briefly legal remain in limbo despite a favorable ruling yesterday. A federal judge ordered Utah officials the more than 1,000 same-sex marriages, but the judge delayed implementation 21 days to give Utah time to appeal. A ruling from a federal appeals court on the constitutionality of state's gay marriage ban is also pending.

SEATTLE (AP) — An attorney for Susan Powell's family says private investigators with cadaver dogs will search a former Washington state home of her father-in-law. Attorney AnnE Bremner says a date for the search of the Puyallup (poo-AL'-up) home Steve Powell used to own has not been set. Susan Powell went missing in Utah in 2009. Her body has never been found.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Four suspected drug dealers have been formally charged in what Salt Lake City police are calling a "drive-up" heroin ring. The four are among 10 men who were arrested last week. The Deseret News reports court records allege the ring leaders hid and transferred money to suppliers in Mexico.
