ROY — Roy High School has been chosen to host Game Night Live this Friday at 6:30 p.m. on KSL 5.

The Royals are off to a 3-0 start with their last two wins coming down to the very last play. They defeated Weber 17-14 in week two when Ben Aikuli made a 33-yard field goal as time expired.

Last Friday they came back to defeat Fremont 13-12 when a tipped Hail Mary pass fell into the arms of Justin Weaver as time expired. The win also came one day after running back Baby Tee Eteuati's mother passed away.

Roy will be taking on Mountain Crest in a region five opener for both teams. Here is a list of five great games to watch this week starting with an important battle in Davis County.

No. 5 Davis vs. No. 2 Syracuse Thursday 7 p.m.

Two of the best teams in 5A square off in a Region 1 opener. The winner will be the favorite to win the Region 1 title which is significant when you consider a Region 1 team has reached the state championship game in five of the last six years a game like this takes on added meaning.

No. 5 Woods Cross at No. 1 East Friday 7 p.m.

The Wildcats are off to a 3-0 start and all three wins are by double digits but they haven't seen anything like the Leopards yet. East piled up 784 yards of total offense against defending 5A champ Jordan last Friday.

No. 3 Beaver at No. 1 South Summit

South Summit looks to be the team to beat in 2A after crushing a ranked American Leadership team 49-3 and beating then 3A No. 1 ranked Morgan in week two. Beaver will test the Wildcat defense with 1,000 yard rusher Jesse McMullin.

No. 3 Pine View at Snow Canyon

The 3AA South Region is going to be a dogfight and it gets underway Friday. This is the top region matchup this week as Pine View takes on an undefeated Snow Canyon team looking to prove they are a playoff team this season.

No. 1 Grantsville at No. 4 Juab

Grantsville knocked off Manti in an overtime thriller to take over the No. 1 spot in 3A. Now they must prove they can beat top 3A competition on the road while Juab has a chance to get a big win on their home field.

Five more games to watch:

Riverton at American Fork, Springville at Spanish Fork, Salem Hills at Timpview, Xfinity Challenge Saturday at Rio Tinto Stadium (Alta vs. Allentown, N.J. at 2 p.m., Bergen Catholic, N.J. vs. Jordan at 7 p.m.)
