LOGAN — Utah State’s athletics department will unveil its new official logo along with new football helmets and game uniforms for 12 of its 16 Division I sports as part of its new brand and identity program at a press conference at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28.
The press conference, which is open to the public, will be held in the Spetman Auditorium on the second floor of the Jim & Carol Laub Athletics-Academics Complex at the north end of Romney Stadium. For those individuals who will be unable to attend the press conference, live streaming of the event will be available via USU’s website at www.utahstateaggies.com.
Representatives from Utah State athletics and Nike will be present at Saturday’s press conference to provide additional comments on the scope and benefits of the brand and identity program.
Following the press conference, Utah State’s football team will hold its annual Blue-White Spring Game, presented by Orbit Irrigation Products, which is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Merlin Olsen Field at Romney Stadium. Live streaming of the spring game will also be available via USU’s website.
Prior to the spring game, USU’s new logo and game uniforms will be displayed on the field and scoreboard inside Romney Stadium.
Merchandise bearing the elements of the new marks will be available for purchase following the Blue-White Spring Game both on campus and at other licensed retailers in the Logan area.
The new logos, designed by Nike, will replace all current Utah State logos for official athletic use and with all USU merchandise.
Currently, Utah State’s primary logo, which has been used by the athletics department since 2000, is an upper case ‘U’ with the word ‘STATE’ written vertically inside it. Overall, this will be the eighth primary logo Utah State Athletics has utilized dating back to 1964.
In addition, the new logo will be launched on the redesigned Utah State Athletics website, utahstateaggies.com, on Monday, April 30.
Doug Hoffman is the assistant athletic director for Utah State University Athletic Media Relations.
