OREM, UTAH, SEPTEMBER 12, 2007 - The University Mall Dollar Theater, now under new ownership, has undergone an exterior and interior renovation, maintaining the dollar price, offering new concessions and dedicating at least one of its four screens to independent films. Modeled after the famed Broadway and Tower Theaters in Salt Lake City, the theater has been renamed Festival Cinemas at the University Mall. Grand reopening festivities will kick off on Friday, September 14 and will go through end of day Saturday, September 15. Events include a live showing of the BYU vs. Tulsa football game on the big screen at 8:00 PM, admission is FREE. There will be free popcorn, balloons and gift certificates for free films and other prizes all weekend.

"Quality dollar movies and independent films are just one facet of Festival Cinema's meta-strategy to transform movie going in Utah County," Brady Whittingham said. "We're transforming the theater into a place for premium entertainment, with plans to also show free games on the big screen, including some Monday Night Football, BYU games, Ute games and Jazz playoff games—starting with our BYU game this weekend."

Festival Cinemas is located at 959 S. 700 E. in Orem, next to Costco
