This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
What started as an idea to protect electronic devices has grown to be a publically traded company with over 200 employees, selling product world-wide.
ZAGG, located at 3855 South 500 West, or ZAGG Square, in Salt Lake City is a major player in protective plastic covering for hand-held devices like cell phones, iPads, iPods, laptops and digital cameras. This is a durable military-grade product. Company founder and CEO Robert Pedersen discovered this product while trying to protect his favorite watch. The product property rights were secured, and a patent was issued just a couple weeks ago, the invisibleSHIELD was viable and the rest is history.
Robert launched ZAGG in 2005 and went public two years later. The company is known for their quick market response. A new product hits the market, like the iPad, and ZAGG products to protect the new device are in retail operations and mall kiosks in a matter of days. This is the preferred product for customers nationwide and around the world.
One of the many best business practices this company is famous for is the idea exchange that goes directly to the top executive team from any of the ZAGG associates. In fact, John Melville, director of sales, explained many of the new inventions have come from the employees. When this happens, the employee is recognized and compensated for the idea. Talk about engaged employees! That explains ZAGG winning the "Mac World Best of Show 2011" award. By the way, this company has doubled their revenue every year for the last five years.
To make sure the employees keep their head in the game, at certain designated times in the day ZAGG sponsors an intense four-square competition. It's like dodge ball in a small square of four. Apparently it gets pretty competitive. Now that's what I call a wellness program.
You have to check out the new ZAGG products. You can get your invisibleSHIELD done in thousands of designs from your favorite team to your company logo or a picture of your dog. For more information about this outstanding company, visit ZAGG.com.
