LOS ANGELES — It was second place Wednesday night for St. George's Dia Frampton on NBC's "The Voice" finale. But the singer/songwriter still won fans nationwide.

After weeks of killer performances and a slowly narrowing pool of contestants, the show's winner is Javier Colon. And no one could have been happier for him than Dia.

"When I met him in February, since day one I was like, ‘This guy is a really cool dude.' Then I met his family and his cute kids, and (it was) awesome," Dia said.

Dia and Javier were close competitors to the end, separated by a mere 2 percent of the vote. Her original song "Inventing Shadows" hit No.1 on the iTunes download chart Wednesday, and he was right behind her.

Dia says that news still hasn't sunk in, and Wednesday night was another surreal experience. "Performing with Miranda (Lambert) was a dream," she said. "I felt I was floating, and she came out on stage, and she's such a positive energy."

Miranda Lambert is married to Dia's coach on "The Voice," singer Blake Shelton. She's also a top country music star in her own right.

"I think Dia's one of the sweetest-spirited people I know," Lambert said. "She just has so much good inside her that comes out of her pores when you talk to her."

Lambert and Shelton were especially supportive coaches, even buying Dia the dress she wore Wednesday night.

That seemed to be the case with all coaches and their artists, who vowed to stay friends after the final taping.

"Beverly made it easy for me to be a coach because she's such a true raw talent," said Christina Aguilera.

And it's that attitude that has the coaches, hosts, and the audience committed to a second season.
