PORTLAND — Portland search and rescue officials said on Sunday night they were suspending the search for 21-year-old Anna Schmidt, the daughter of Utah musician Jon Schmidt of The Piano Guys.
“Search efforts will resume in the event Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue coordinators establish credible leads,” the Portland Police Bureau said in a statement released on Sunday night.
Schmidt was reported missing on Oct. 19, but was last seen by her roommate on Oct. 16. Police found her car in the Columbia River Gorge area near Portland.
Search and rescue crews spent the last three days looking for Schmidt on the ground and by air. Officials said over 150 volunteer search and rescue personnel have participated during search efforts since being called out Friday morning.
Schmidt’s family said she is an avid hiker. They believe she went off on her own.
Police said at this point they don't believe foul play is involved.
