SALT LAKE CITY — As we watch Olympic dreams come true in London, we want to connect people with ways in which they can get involved with Olympic sports in Utah.

Soccer is the most popular sport in the world and, in Utah, popularity is rising.

Last year, nearly 44,000 kids signed up to play with Utah Youth Soccer, the governing body of soccer in the state. That's enough athletes to fill Rio Tinto stadium in Sandy... twice.

"Any kid, level, size, can play the game," said Andrew Hiatt, Executive Director of Utah Youth Soccer Association. "It develops great skill, coordination, gets kids outdoors. It's a fantastic sport."

Kids can sign up for recreation soccer that's played for fun or elite club soccer going against some of the best teams in the country. For more information on how to get involved with soccer go to www.utahyouthsoccer.net.
