WEST JORDAN -- Police have identified a man shot and killed by officers in West Jordan.
Officers say 41-year-old Wade Russell Pennington, of Kamas, was trying to ram officers with his SUV early Thursday morning when one of the officers opened fire--killing him.
Pennington had previously tried to run one of the officers down when they tried to pull him over on investigation of burglary in the area of 9800 South Bangerter Highway.
The pursuit ended in a cul-de-sac at 2408 W. Marion Drive.
The officer involved in the shooting is now on administrative leave pending an investigation.
