PROVO — The BYU basketball team hosts No. 2 Gonzaga Thursday night at the Marriott Center in Provo. The game has major implications for both teams, and some diehard BYU fans can't wait for the game to begin.

More than 70 tents lined the sidewalk outside the Marriott Center Thursday morning, as fans camped out the night before in anticipation for Thursday's game. However, some Cougars fan like Jared Scoresby pitched their tent late Sunday night, where overnight temperatures dropped into the teens.

Some fans had banana chairs to stay comfortable, while others worked on their laptops, likely for school.

"Sometimes it gets a little dull sitting there in the tent, but the prospect of the game gets you excited," said Cougars fan Elena Farnsworth

The Gonzaga Bulldogs will be the highest ranked team to ever play in the Marriott Center. A win over the Cougars Thursday could propel the Bulldogs into the No.1 spot after the Indiana Hoosiers lost to Minnesota on Tuesday. For the Cougars to have a chance at the NCAA Tournament, they must pull off a victory over the Bulldogs.

The last time BYU faced a No. 2-ranked opponent, the Cougars played in the Smithfield House.
