Outlook

Friday will essentially be a rinse and repeat of today with highs in the upper 60s near 70 and mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Saturday will have the strongest winds statewide due to a cold front moving through Utah in the afternoon and evening. Gusts could peak up to 75 mph across the north and central mountains, and valleys could see wind gusts up to 35 mph. This cold front will bring some precipitation to northern Utah, but it won't be a soaker by any means. Looks like the mountains could get up to 2 inches of snow above 9000ft and the valleys could get a couple of hundredths of an inch of rain. Highs will drop from the low 60s Saturday to the near 50 Sunday behind the front. Mostly cloudy skies will hold through Monday, then high pressure will build in over the southwest US by Tuesday morning. Sunshine will return Tuesday and temperatures will be back into the low 70s. Record warmth is likely for many locations by the end of the week with SLC hitting 80 for the first time this year and the earliest ever on record. Meanwhile, St. George will likely break several daily record highs while reaching 90 degrees for the first time ever in March. - Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 3.12.26
