OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Russell Westbrook poured in 40 points and Kevin Durant added 31 as the Oklahoma City Thunder hammered San Antonio 105-92 to even the NBA's Western Conference finals at two games apiece. Westbrook also provided 10 assists, five rebounds and five steals to help Oklahoma City stay unbeaten in two games since Serge Ibaka (ih-BAH'-kah) returned to the lineup. The Spurs shot just 40 percent and never recovered after the Thunder built a 58-43 halftime lead.

NEW YORK (AP) — Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling says there is no basis for the NBA to strip him of the franchise because his racist statements were illegally recorded "during an inflamed lovers' quarrel in which he was clearly distraught." Sterling says V. Stiviano recorded him without his knowledge and thus the recording was illegal under California law. Meanwhile, the attorney for Shelly Sterling confirmed that her husband has given her written permission to sell the team.

NEW YORK (AP) — The NBA has fined Indiana Pacers forward Paul George $25,000 for his public criticism of the officiating after Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals in Miami. League president of basketball operations Rod Thorn said George's comments came in the postgame news conference following the 102-90 loss to the Heat on Monday night. The Heat took twice as many free throws in the game.

MONTREAL (AP) — Rene Bourque (bohrk) registered a hat trick and the Montreal Canadiens forced a Game 6 in the NHL's Eastern Conference finals by defeating the New York Rangers 7-4. The Canadiens blew a 4-1 lead within a 4 ½-minute span of the second period before Bourque scored his last two goals. Max Pacioretty (pash-uh-RET'-ee) added a goal and an assist for the Habs, who take on the Rangers Thursday at Madison Square Garden.

PARIS (AP) — Women's second seed Li Na (lee nah) was ousted in the first round of the French Open. The 2011 French Open champion made 37 unforced errors in a 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 loss to Kristina Mladenovic (mih-LAD'-ehn-oh-vich). Tuesday's winners included fourth seed Simona Halep (HAL'-ehp), sixth seed Jelena Jankovic (yeh-LAY'-nuh YANK'-oh-vihch), men's fifth seed David Ferrer (feh-REHR') and No. 7 Andy Murray.
