In 2013 and 2015, they stopped their apparent march to a national title. Ohio State coach Ryan Day says he wants his players to know the history of the series so they know what's at stake. The teams face off on Saturday.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — KJ Hamler's juking, high-stepping, highlight-reel performance a week ago earned him praise from coaches and teammates. Penn State's star receiver knows he can catch more than six passes for 108 yards in a game and points to his 58-yard touchdown catch and run against Maryland. He'll get another chance Saturday when No. 12 Penn State (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten) hosts Purdue (1-3, 0-1).

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska will again try to bounce back from a humiliating loss. The Cornhuskers will enter their game against Northwestern off a 41-point beat-down at home by Ohio State. Second-year coach Scott Frost says the Nebraska job is not harder than he thought it would be and good things are coming. Northwestern enters the game with one of the nation's worst offenses and will be without its leading receiver.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — With time in the second quarter ticking down toward a minute remaining and Minnesota moving into scoring range, Tanner Morgan had to hurry a throw at Purdue and settle for a harmless incompletion. That turned out to be his only one of the game, when he passed for 396 yards and four touchdowns. The sophomore quarterback led the Gophers to a 38-31 victory in their Big Ten opener, and he told coach P.J. Fleck on the way off the field he still needs to play better.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) — Both Maryland and Rutgers are coming off embarrassing shutouts to Big Ten football contenders in the Top 25. They also are dwelling in the basement of the Big Ten Conference.
