CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The Atlantic Coast Conference wrapped up media day with coaches and two players from each team participating in the event. Next up for the ACC will be to announce the results of its media picks for preseason favorite and all-conference players on Thursday. The conference lost many of its top players to the NBA, including Zion Williamson, and appears more balanced overall than in years past.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The Atlantic Coast Conference is waiting to see who steps into the spotlight after the departures of national player of the year Zion Williamson and nine other first-round NBA draft picks. The league has just two returning all-conference players, its lowest total in three decades. That will create plenty of opportunities for players to make a name for themselves this season, along with uncertainty about who will emerge to be the league's next stars.
CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — The biggest question for No. 2 Clemson this offseason was how to make up for the loss of four NFL draft picks from last year's national championship team. The Tigers revamped front four has answered emphatically by leading the Atlantic Coast Conference in total defense. Defensive ends Logan Rudolph, Xavier Thomas and Justin Foster have stepped in, along with tackles Nyles Pinckney and Tyler Davis.
