RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Jamie Newman threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to Jack Freudenthal with 30 seconds left to give Wake Forest a 27-23 upset victory over No. 22 North Carolina State. The Demon Deacons overcame a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter for their first road victory over a Top 25 team in a decade.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Steven Enoch had 15 points including several key free throws down the stretch, Darius Perry added 14 points and Louisville held off Nicholls State 85-72 to win Chris Mack's debut as Cardinals coach. The Cardinals had to work to put away the stubborn Colonels, whose 3-point shooting got them within 68-66 with 4:16 remaining. V.J. King made a free throw, Perry added a layup and Enoch made two more from the line to make it 73-66.

UNDATED (AP) — No. 2 Clemson visits 17th-ranked Boston College in the marquee game in the Atlantic Coast Conference this weekend. The Tigers can wrap up a fourth straight berth in the league title game with a victory in what shapes up as BC's biggest home game in years. Also around the league, Miami's defense tries to find a way to slow Georgia Tech's triple-option offense and Virginia Tech tries to knock Pittsburgh out of the top spot in the Coastal Division.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina coach Larry Fedora is trying to reverse the program's 2-year slide. The Tar Heels are headed for a second straight bowl-less season and have just one win entering Saturday's game at rival Duke. UNC won an Atlantic Coast Conference division championship in 2015. But the Tar Heels have lost 19 of 24 games since November 2016.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Teammates on the basketball court and housemates off it, Arike Ogunbowale and Marina Mabrey have come a long way since they guarded each other in a high school all-star game. Thanks to Mabrey's unselfishness and Ogunbowale's pair of buzzer-beating shots in the Final Four, Notre Dame has an NCAA title to defend. The season opener is Friday at home against Harvard.

She will make her head coaching debut this week and she intends to return the Cavaliers back to their glory days. It's fitting that the Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer will open against a top 10 opponent _ No. 6 Mississippi State. She embraces a challenge and nothing has come easy for her.
