PRAGUE (AP) — The Czech Republic has announced its smallest team for an Olympics since the split of Czechoslovakia in 1993.
Just 105 athletes were picked for the Rio de Janeiro Olympics on Tuesday, though it included all four gold medalists from the 2012 London Games.
They were Barbora Spotakova in women's javelin, Miroslava Topinkova Knapkova in the women's single sculls rowing, David Svoboda in the men's modern pentathlon, and Jaroslav Kulhavy in cross-country cycling.
There were also high hopes for two-time world women's 400-meter hurdles champion Zuzana Hejnova, and 2013 world javelin champ Vitezslav Vesely.
Wimbledon semifinalist Tomas Berdych was also among 10 tennis players.
