NEW YORK (AP) — Colorado defenseman Tyson Barrie and New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider are among 24 NHL players who have filed for salary arbitration.
New Jersey forward Kyle Palmieri, Ottawa forward Mike Hoffman and Detroit's Danny DeKeyser also filed at the deadline Tuesday.
The players' teams must decide Wednesday whether to go to arbitration. The hearings will be held from July 20 to Aug. 4 in Toronto.
Barrie has scored 102 points over the past two seasons with the Avalanche, becoming one of the league's top young offensive defensemen. Colorado's inability to reach a long-term deal has prompted trade speculation around Barrie, who made $3.2 million last year.
Kreider had his second straight 21-goal season for the Rangers, while Hoffman led the Senators with 29 goals last season.
