BERLIN (AP) — Even Manchester United's sponsors are unhappy with the team's style of play.
Adidas chief executive Herbert Hainer tells a German newspaper that United's "current playing style is not exactly what we want to see."
Man United's uniforms are made by the German company.
Hainer, however, also tells the Sueddeutsche Zeitung that business with United "is going very well, we're selling more jerseys than expected."
United beat Swansea 2-1 on Saturday to end an eight-game winless run — its longest in 26 years — and give manager Louis van Gaal some reprieve. The Dutch coach had raised the possibility of resigning during United's poor run.
United is fifth in the Premier League and already out of the Champions League.
