Mountain West Conference football teams combined to post a 7-1 mark in non-conference action on Saturday, including a 4-0 record against Pac-10 teams. No. 18/15 BYU shut out UCLA (59-0), while New Mexico beat Arizona (36-28), TCU rolled past Stanford (31-14) and UNLV upset No. 15/13 Arizona State (23-20 in OT). Elsewhere, Air Force edged Houston (31-28), No. 22 Utah routed Utah State (58-10), Wyoming defeated North Dakota State (16-13) and San Diego State fell to San Jose State (35-10).

2. Cougar QB Max Hall passed for an MWC-record seven touchdowns, finishing with 271 yards on 27-of-35 passing with one interception.
3. The Cougars' 59-0 victory over the Bruins marked the third-largest margin of victory in MWC history.
4. BYU extended its overall and home win streaks to 13 and 14 games, respectively. The Cougars' 13 consecutive overall wins marks the longest active streak in the nation, while their home win streak ranks third behind Oklahoma (19) and Wisconsin (16).

Aho's five field goals tied the MWC record for most field goals in a game and set a new freshman mark. 3. UNM senior Rodney Ferguson rushed for 158 yards on the night, marking his second straight 100-yard effort and giving him 12 for his career, moving him into a tie for third place on the league's all-time list for most 100-yard rushing games. 4. With the victory, New Mexico posts back-to-back wins over Arizona for the first time since the 1975 and 1976 seasons. Last year, the Lobos came away from Tucson with a 29-27 victory over the Wildcats. | |

TCU quarterback Andy Dalton registered 236 total yards and a touchdown in the contest, completing 20-of-36 passes for 145 yards while rushing for 91 yards and a TD. 4. | 1. UNLV's Malo Taumua blocked a field goal to lift the Rebels to the 23-20 overtime upset of the nationally-ranked Sundevils.
2. Rebel QB Omar Clayton completed 19-of-31 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns, both of which went to Phillip Payne, including an eight-yard scoring strike with 18 seconds remaining to tie the game at 20-20 in regulation.
3. Frank Summers led UNLV's ground game with 103 yards on 22 carries for his first 100-yard rushing effort of the season and fifth overall.
4. Saturday's victory marked UNLV's second win in nine tries against ASU, and gave the Rebels a 2-1 record vs. the Sundevils in their last three meetings.

The Falcons have opened with a 3-0 mark 13 times in school history, averaging 8.5 wins a season and finishing with a winning record each of those years. 3. All 380 yards of Air Force's offense came on the ground as the Falcons went without a pass completion for the fifth time in school history. 4. Falcon QB Shea Smith led all rushers with 93 yards and three touchdowns in the contest. | |

Utah rolled up over 400 yards total offense for the second consecutive game, finishing with 446 yards. 3. Ute defender Paul Kruger finished with four sacks among his five tackles, all of which went for a loss. Kruger's four sacks are the most by any player in the Football Bowl Subdivision this season. 4. 2. Cowboy junior kicker Jake Scott accounted for 10 of the Cowboys' 16 points, kicking a PAT and field goals of 28, 28 and 29 yards. Scott's game-winning FG came with four seconds left to play in regulation.
3. Devin Moore finished with 194 all-purpose yards and a touchdown for Wyoming, including 145 rushing yards for his first 100-yard effort of the season and sixth of his career.
4. Wyoming FS Chris Prosinski registered his first two career interceptions in the contest while helping the Cowboy defense hold NDSU to 122 yards of offense in the second half.

One of Stahovich's punts was a 65-yard boot, setting the MWC record for longest punt by a freshman. 2. Aztec LB Russell Allen finished with a season-high 14 tackles, including a career-best 4.5 tackles for loss. 3. SDSU's DeMarco Sampson recorded his first catch since the 2005 season in the third quarter. Sampson missed the last two seasons with a foot injury, after logging six receptions for 60 yards and a score as a true freshman in 2005. 4. Five Aztecs recorded double-digit tackles, led by Andrew Preston's career-high 15 stops. SDSU finished with a season-high 11 tackles for loss. | |
