SALT LAKE CITY — Love him or hate him, you can't have March Madness without Dick Vitale. He always brings a passion that is unrivaled by any other college hoops analyst. Just the simple mention of the top teams in college basketball can send him into a wild stream of consciousness.

It happened Saturday during ESPN's coverage when Vitale was talking about the possibility of a North Carolina/Kentucky national championship game. Hide your kids and hide your wife.

BYU in the Big Dance

Jay Bilas didn't think BYU belonged in the field of 68 and went as far as to infer with his tweet — "Still cannot understand how BYU made the cut with those others left out. Committee booted that one. WCC Commish on the Committee" — that the reason BYU made it into the tournament was the fact that WCC commissioner Jamie Zaninovich was a member of the tournament committee that made the selections.

Bilas isn't alone, however. There doesn't seem to be a lot of respect for BYU or their fellow conference members in this year's tourney.

Dwight Howard makes an impression

The NBA trade deadline is on Thursday and many expect Dwight Howard will be on the move. According to a report in the Orlando Sentinel over the weekend, General Manager Otis Smith said the chances of Howard being in a Magic uniform after Thursday are 50-50.

Wherever Howard lands that team will be getting much more than just a basketball player. Howard is also quite the comedian. While playing in Chicago last Thursday, he shared his spot-on impression of Charles Barkley.

It seems everybody tries their hand at lampooning the Chuckster, but you have to admit that Howard's impression is pretty good.

Dunk of the weekend

The dunk of the weekend goes to New Jersey Nets guard Gerald Green. I don't think there is any way to describe this dunk that would do it any justice. Just watch and enjoy.
