The No. 2 Texas Longhorns wasted no time positioning themselves as one of the teams to beat in the Southeastern Conference. In their first season as an SEC member, they posted the best record during the regular season and earned a spot against No. 5 Georgia in the league championship game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The Bulldogs have become a regular in the title game, earning a spot for the seventh time in Kirby Smart's nine seasons as coach. No matter the outcome, both teams are headed to the College Football Playoff. But the winner is assured of a first-round bye and a spot in the Sugar Bowl on New Year's Day.
