CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Z. Mason scored 24 points, gathered 13 rebounds and blocked six shots as Chattanooga rolled over Appalachian State 63-44 on Saturday.

Chattanooga (18-13, 12-4 Southern) trailed in the opening minutes but used a 12-0 run — including two 3-pointers by Ronrico White — to lead 35-30 at the break.

Appalachian State (9-20, 5-11) went 6:09 in the second half without a point as the Mocs built their lead up to 15 points and Chattanooga coasted to the win as the Mountaineers made just 4 of 23 shots after intermission.

Gee McGhee added 11 points and White finished with 10 points for Chattanooga, which won the rebounding battle 50-32, including pulling down 20 offensive boards.

Michael Obacha led Appalachian State with 11 points and was 7 of 10 from the line. ASU shot 31 percent overall, made just 1 of 5 from beyond the arc and 13 of 29 free throws.
