Ayers leads Bucknell over Lehigh 65-61

LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Cameron Ayers scored 17 points and Chris Hass added 12 to lead Bucknell to a 65-61 victory over Lehigh on Wednesday night.

John Azzinaro hit two straight 3-pointers to give Bucknell a 42-37 lead with 13:12 to play. He added three free throws to stretch the Bison's lead to 47-40 at the 10:32 mark. Corey Schaefer scored to pull Lehigh within one, 50-49 with 7:32 to play. Bucknell answered with an 8-2 run and was 7 of 10 from the line down the stretch to seal it.

Ayers shot just 4 of 12 from the field but hit eight of nine free throws. Hass made 5 of 13 field goals and Azzinaro finished with nine points. Bucknell (15-13, 10-7 Patriot League) has won five straight games.

Jesse Chuku scored 18 points and Austin Price added 11 points to lead Lehigh (14-16, 7-10). Tim Kempton chipped in 10 points.
