SALT LAKE CITY — A member of a Canadian music group changes “O Canada” lyrics to say “All Lives Matter,” a basketballer pulls off a nutmeg on an opponent and the University of Florida pokes fun at former rival Jamies Winston. More stories from the world of sports in today's From Left Field!

1. Canadian anthem singer changes anthem lyrics, adds in ‘All Lives Matter’

Sports and social issues cross paths from time to time. The 2016 MLB All-Star Game in San Diego was an unlikely place to find commentary on current social issues. But for one Canadian national anthem singer, he decided the All-Star Game was the place to do so.

Prior to the game, Canadian group, The Tenors, sang “O Canada.” During the performance, one of the group members, Remigio Pereira, changed the lyrics from "With glowing hearts we see thee rise, The True North strong and free!” to "We're all brothers and sisters, All lives matter to the great."

Pereira held up a sign that read “All Lives Matter.” The recent events in Louisiana, Minnesota and Dallas have brought the "Black Lives Matter" and "All Lives Matter" discussion front and center to the public.

Some of the crowd reacted with cheers, while others did not say a word. As you see on the video, the rest of the group members were confused when Pereira's lyric change occurred.

During the game, a statement was sent out on The Tenors' Twitter account, apologizing for the incident. According to the statement, Pereira acted as a "lone wolf."

The statement also said Pereira will not be performing with the group until further notice.

Later in the evening, Pereira went on Twitter to explain his actions.

3. University of Florida uses Pokemon tweet to take a jab at Jameis Winston

Pokemon Go has swept the nation. It feels like everyone is walking around, looking for the little pocket monsters.

The University of Florida Public Safety Department’s (UFPS) Twitter account decided to use Pokemon to take a jab at an old rival: former Florida State University and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston.

In 2014, Winston was cited for shoplifting crab legs from a Publix supermarket in Florida. On Monday, Pokemon’s Twitter account tweeted a photo of a Krabby standing by a bowl of crab legs.

UFPS decided to troll Winston and FSU with this retweet:

Come on, UFPS. It’s a bit of an old joke. Then again, it did get some Florida State fans upset, so I guess mission accomplished.
