BYU is the only MWC team receiving votes in this week's Top 25 polls. BYU is 26th in the Coaches' survey, and 27th in the AP.

Joe Lunardi (ESPN.com's "Bracketology") has BYU as a 7 seed this week (facing #10 Ohio State in Anaheim). UNLV is a 10 seed (facing #7 St. Mary's in Anaheim). Notable about this is not only BYU becoming a favored seed this week, but also UNLV going from an 11 to a 10 despite struggling against Air Force and losing by 26 to BYU. At the very least, it's a sign of respect for the Cougars.

Still on ESPN.com, the "Weekly Watch" lists BYU as the #1 "Team to Watch" outside the polls. A 2-0 week this week will put the Cougars firmly in the polls by next Monday.

Trivia: if BYU beats Utah this Wednesday, the Cougars will record back-to-back regular season sweeps of Utah for the first time since 1979 and 1980. Wow.
