New Hampshire during the primary election.

Walking the streets of Manchester during the days leading up the primary presidential election is really an amazing sight. I've covered many Utah elections but have never seen anything like this. Everyone is talking politics everywhere you go. And it's not people fighting with each other, but instead its neighbors and co-workers talking about candidates and positions.

Yes, they have to put up with a hoard of media trucks jamming their streets taking up all the parking, but most say it's worth the hassle.

It's entertaining to go to the events and see the candidates energize the crowd. It's like going to mini rock concerts only you hear about the war, health care, the environment, government spending, American values and all the while people are chanting, clapping and hoisting signs high above their heads.

And then you get to run into the lesser known candidates like this guy who wears a boot on his head and wants to rule the world or something like that. He had campaign supporters with signs and weird costumes. I don't think that he made it onto utah's ballot so sorry you can't vote for him if you're looking for a very nontraditional candidate. To get his message out he sings songs about his positions using a megaphone. I really think the best way to describe downtown Manchester is to compare it to park city's main street during the film festival. There are a lot of people out and about and sometimes they get star struck, but by politicians instead of movie stars. And instead of movie posters and free swag you get campaign flyers.
