SKOPJE, Macedonia (AP) - Macedonian police say they have arrested three people suspected of being involved in an explosion that wounded five Roma children in western town of Tetovo.
Tetovo police spokesman Marjan Josifoski said Monday that a 46-year-old man, his 28-year-old son and a 15-year-old youth were detained over Sunday's explosion. Josifoski said investigators were still trying to establish what type of device caused the blast and what the motive might have been.
Two 14-year-old girls sustained serious limb and chest injuries from the explosion and were being treated in a hospital in Skopje. Hospital officials said they were in stable condition after surgery. Three other children were slightly injured and have been discharged from the hospital.
