WASHINGTON (AP) — Another State Department official has taken questions behind closed doors as part of the House impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump's pressure on Ukraine. Lawmakers say the diplomat, Philip Reeker, has backed up testimony from previous witnesses, most all of whom have detailed concerns with Trump's efforts to oust the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine. Earlier Saturday, Trump tweeted that he's not worried about the inquiry because he's done nothing wrong.

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Proposing historic change to the tradition of a celibate priesthood, Catholic bishops from across the Amazon have called for the ordination of married men to address the clergy shortage in the region. The majority of the bishops at the Amazon synod also called for the Vatican to reopen a debate on ordaining women as deacons, saying "it is urgent for the church in the Amazon to promote and confer ministries for men and women in an equitable manner."

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Authorities say about 90,000 people have been ordered to evacuate across a huge swath of Northern California ahead of historic winds predicted near a wildfire that has destroyed dozens of homes. Cal Fire says severe gusts could push the fire miles ahead of the main blaze that's chewed through more than 40 square miles of dry brush. Evacuations are ordered for wine country communities stretching all the way through the Russian River Valley to Bodega Bay on the coast.

LONDON (AP) — A fifth person has been arrested in connection with the deaths of 39 people found in a truck in southeastern England. British police charged a 25-year-old truck driver Saturday with 39 counts of manslaughter and conspiracy to traffic people. Police say they have removed all the bodies from the truck and are awaiting autopsies, though identifying the victims is expected to be difficult.

BAGHDAD (AP) — Two days of violent anti-government rallies in Baghdad and southern Iraqi cities have left at least 63 people dead. According to Iraq's human rights commission, at least 10 were killed in the capital, in addition to more than 2,500 injured. The Associated Press put the number of those killed at 49. Protests have resumed in Iraq after a wave of anti-government protests earlier this month were violently put down.
