LOGAN — Three Logan businesses donated 1,500 emergency meals to the Logan City Fire Department in honor of two law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty last year.
Romo's Mediterranean Grill & Market, K9s Unleashed Training Academy and Big Deal Outlet joined together to provide the prepared emergency meals to local firefighters.
"It was K9s Unleashed Training Academy, myself (Romo's Mediterranean Grill) and Big Deal Outlet; we contributed, and we donated almost 1,500 cases — 1,500 meals," Steve Romo, owner of Romo's Mediterranean Grill & Market, said.

The donation was both unexpected and meaningful for Logan City Fire Department EMS Assistant Chief Andy Shock.
Shock has been with the department for more than 23 years. He said the department has been distributing the meals to firefighters throughout Cache and Box Elder counties.
"These were donated by the community, by people that care about us. And we're so thankful for that. We love them. We've just been trying to get them out to the firefighters in our area. We've probably got enough for now. But yes, we just can't express enough gratitude," Shock said.
Donation honors fallen officers
The timing of the donation was intentional.
Romo said he and his wife, Jill, wanted to commemorate two Tremonton-Garland Police Department officers who were killed in the line of duty last year.
"Last year, we had fallen officers, two of them, you know. They were called on a domestic violence situation and they were both killed. And we're close friends with them. So we commemorated that kind of, you know what I mean? Let's just let's give, you know, if you can. Let's do what we can," Romo said.
The donation came near the anniversary of the deaths of Tremonton-Garland police officers Eric Estrada and Sgt. Lee Sorensen, who were killed in the line of duty on Aug. 17, 2025, while responding to a domestic violence call in Tremonton.
"Officer Estrada and Sorensen and their families, we love them," Romo said. "And we just feel super blessed to live in an area like this where people support us."
Romo said the effort also reflects Logan's close-knit nature and the larger Cache County community, where business owners and first responders often know one another personally.
The donated meals will help provide emergency food supplies for firefighters while they are on duty, often while fighting wildland fires.
