LAS VEGAS (AP) — A prosecutor says a mother's persistence led to the indictment of four men on murder and other charges in a shooting that killed a 16-year-old and left another teen wounded outside a house party in Las Vegas more than seven years ago.
Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal (http://bit.ly/29mAgeL ) that many witnesses to the February 2009 slaying of Aric Michael Brill refused to cooperate, fearing that the suspects had gang ties.
Wolfson says Brill's mother, Karen Brill-Kelley, proded investigators to return to the case this year.
The defendants, Arthur Moore, Nadin Hiko, Devonte Wash and Devon Phillips, were indicted Thursday.
They're due for arraignment next Wednesday in Clark County District Court.
Witnesses told police a shooter pulled out two handguns and shot both teens.
