MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — College students from across the state are coming to Montgomery.
The annual Higher Education Day rally will be held Thursday morning outside the Alabama Statehouse. Students will urge lawmakers to increase funding for public universities.
The Higher Education Partnership organizes the annual event which always draws a crowd so loud that their chants can be heard inside the Statehouse. The Partnership says about 2,000 students are expected to attend this year.
Gov. Robert Bentley will address the group at 11 a.m.
