MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Steven Shirley is being officially inaugurated as president of Minot State University this week.

A ceremony is scheduled Friday afternoon in Ann Nicole Nelson Hall on campus. A reception follows in the McFarland Foyer.

Shirley will officially become the school's 11th president. The former president at Valley City State University took the reins at MSU last July, succeeding the retired David Fuller.

The century-old school has about 3,500 students.
